The Nootka Sounder We publish this newspaper annually on behalf of Nootka Sound Service Ltd., which offers scheduled tourist cruises throughout historic Nootka Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Nootka Sounder is available free of charge for guests aboard the MV Uchuck III. It is also distributed throughout the mid-Vancouver Island region. The Nootka Sounder is loaded with information about the vessel, her routes, the local communities, First Nations history and more. It is a revenue neutral publication supported by local advertisers.
